Jamie L. Kimak is a NY  based textile, surface & apparel design artist and 2020 NY State Grant Award Recipient. In 2012 Jamie received her BFA in Fiber & Textile Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, where she has since worked in the apparel industry.

Jamie's background includes graphic design, experimental fashion, weaving & surface design, where she has worked in a wide range of textile and print design processes. 

 

Jamie has developed a unique approach to creating textiles. Her vibrant signature aesthetic is informed by her constant practice and exploration of traditional woven processes, natural dyeing methods, and design techniques influenced by her passion for textile design.
